Funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the federal government of Germany, CRS provides refugee and asylum seeker scholars in Egypt with the qualifications and skills they need to secure gainful employment, through the provision of DAFI scholarships.

Higher education activities target refugees and asylum seekers of all nationalities ages 18-24 years old, and provides four or five years of scholarships, depending on the course of study, that include enrollment and tuition support as well as monthly allowances. Additional support for these scholars includes monthly case management meetings, language classes, employability skills training, peer support and social clubs, internship mapping and placement, counseling, and e-learning spaces.

The project, funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, provides educational and protection assistance to unaccompanied and separated children in Egypt. The project takes a holistic approach, encompassing financial, academic and well-being assistance to boost education enrollment, retention and success.
