I have been photographing since I had my first Kodak Brownie camera and my 6 year old thumb framed the edge of every picture. I have worked as a freelance photojournalist for magazines from New York City to San Diego with a stop over in Minneapolis where I received my undergraduate in Journalism from the University of Minnesota. I went on to receive my MFA in film from New York University in 2004.
I specialize in a documentary approach to portrait photography and enjoy the experience of working with people, making them feel comfortable and delivering work quickly. I use both natural light and studio lighting depending on the job and always spend time speaking with clients beforehand to prepare them best and feel comfortable with the session.
